The Southcentral Foundation (SCF) Dental Hygienist is responsible for conducting dental hygiene examinations and treatments on customer-owners and assisting in improving their knowledge of preventative oral hygiene.

Qualifications:

SCF programs primarily serve Alaska Native people affiliated with Cook Inlet Region, Inc. (CIRI), and Alaska Native and American Indian people within SCF’s geographical service area. Employees should understand the cultures and needs of this population. This knowledge is critical to achieving SCF’s vision of a Native Community that enjoys physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual wellness, and its mission of working together with the Native Community to achieve wellness through health and related services:

• Licensed as a Dental Hygienist in the State of Alaska.
• Current Dental Hygienist license for intermittent positions or Commissioned Corps.
• Current Local Anesthetic Agent Certificate issued by the Alaska Board of Dental Examiners OR obtain within 18 months of hire.
• Current Nitrous Oxide Certificate issued by the Alaska Board of Dental Examiners OR obtain within 18 months of hire.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required. Additional certifications (ACLS, NRP, ATLS, ALSO, PALS) may be required for specialty roles.

Native Preference: Under P.L. 93-638, as amended, SCF pursues a policy of Native preference in hiring, contracting, and training. SCF Human Resources must receive certification before applicants receive preference.

Employee Health Requirements: Compliance with our Employee Health Procedure is a condition of employment. You must agree to comply with all job-related health screenings and immunizations prior to your first day. Jobs designated as Health Care Personnel (HCP) require documentation of immunizations such as MMR, Varicella, Hepatitis B, Influenza, T-dap, and COVID-19 vaccination.
