Primary Responsibilities

The Drinking Water & Wastewater Engineer will plan, direct, and monitor technical aspects of complex drinking water and wastewater design projects.

In this role, you'll:

  • Perform complex assignments, exercising judgment in evaluation, selection, and modification of engineering techniques and procedures.
  • Make decisions on significant design and engineering procedures.
  • Function as a technical specialist or project manager on mid-size projects.
  • Coordinate staffing and workload to ensure timely project completion.
  • Supervise small teams of professionals and technicians as needed.
  • Implement QA/QC procedures and train personnel accordingly.
  • Participate in reviews with governing agencies for code compliance.
  • Perform additional duties as required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with Alaska Native Villages or Indigenous communities.
  • At least 3 years of experience designing water and wastewater projects.
  • Familiarity with rural logistics and procurement challenges.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
  • Experience designing water and wastewater projects with plans and specifications.
  • Professional engineering license recognized in the position's location (e.g., PE, P.Eng).
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and in teams.
