Primary ResponsibilitiesThe Drinking Water & Wastewater Engineer will plan, direct, and monitor technical aspects of complex drinking water and wastewater design projects.
In this role, you'll:
- Perform complex assignments, exercising judgment in evaluation, selection, and modification of engineering techniques and procedures.
- Make decisions on significant design and engineering procedures.
- Function as a technical specialist or project manager on mid-size projects.
- Coordinate staffing and workload to ensure timely project completion.
- Supervise small teams of professionals and technicians as needed.
- Implement QA/QC procedures and train personnel accordingly.
- Participate in reviews with governing agencies for code compliance.
- Perform additional duties as required.
- Experience working with Alaska Native Villages or Indigenous communities.
- At least 3 years of experience designing water and wastewater projects.
- Familiarity with rural logistics and procurement challenges.

Required Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
- Experience designing water and wastewater projects with plans and specifications.
- Professional engineering license recognized in the position's location (e.g., PE, P.Eng).
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and in teams.
