Overview
The CAD Technician will prepare CAD maps for telecommunications infrastructure projects. Projects include preparing designs, staking maps, and as-built maps for Fiber-to-the-Premise (FTTP) construction projects.
Responsibilities- Prepare CAD maps for telecommunications infrastructure projects, including designs, staking maps, and as-built maps for FTTP construction.
- Education: High School Diploma or GED.
- Experience: Detailed experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D/MAP3D associated GIS toolsets that are utilized in the mapping of telecommunications outside plant networks.
- Experience with QGIS or Global Mapper is preferred. The creation/manipulation of shape files is required.
- Google Earth PRO and file structure familiarity.
- General computer knowledge and MS Office suite.
- Experience with preparing CAD documentation for telecom service providers is preferred.
- Skills: Requires good oral and written communication skills; ability to work as part of a team; ability to work on multiple projects.
