Job Summary

The Process Engineer is responsible for preparing and overseeing the completion of technical deliverables for all project phases following established engineering principles, procedures, and criteria. This position provides process engineering expertise and ensures deliverables meet the requirements of customer documents, field philosophy, and applicable code and industry standards. It provides engineering support to Operations personnel to analyze and resolve operational problems and identify and implement value‑enhancing projects.

Responsible for developing process engineering design outputs including material balance, equipment sizing, etc., and troubleshooting active operations.

Essential Duties
  • Develop and/or perform quality review of engineering calculations (e.g., heat & material balances) and design package reviews.
  • Must have a strong working knowledge of process engineering drawings, construction field philosophy, applicable codes and regulations.
  • Must ensure supplier data and drawings are in compliance with project design specifications.
  • Must be able to manage project scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Experience in creating engineering deliverables such as design basis, heat and material balance, PFDs, P&IDs. Also familiar with sizing process equipment (separators, heat exchangers, pumps, compressors, relief valves, and control valves) and developing data sheets and specifications.
  • Must be able to write standard operating procedure manuals and instruct field personnel on process specific details.
  • Comply with Company and customer policies and procedures.
  • Regularly interacts with control room, operations leadership, and field personnel to analyze operational problems, develop alternatives and recommend solutions.
  • Seeks and identifies opportunities to optimize systems, save costs, improve operations, and maximize operating performance & value.
  • Works closely with the project manager or assumes the role of project manager for individual projects or programs as needed.
  • Broad‑based engineering and operational knowledge; able to understand, lead efforts in, or provide internal support for civil, electrical, mechanical and process control issues or designs.
  • Support AES zero‑incident safety culture and assume personal accountability and responsibility for safe work practices in all projects, activities, and operations.
Required Experience
  • Have a Bachelor's Degree of Science in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience as a Process Engineer.
  • Driver's License required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Be able to translate complex technical information into an organized and presentable manner.
  • Self‑starter with proven leadership skills, team player, comfortable working under pressure, and dedicated to developing workforce.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Professional Engineer License.
  • Oil & Gas experience.
  • Experience in process safety management and hazard analysis.
  • Thorough understanding of equipment design, fabrication, and installation practices.
  • Familiar with process simulation and hydraulic modeling software.
