Roles and Responsibilities

In the role of Electrical Construction Inspector, we'll count on you to:

  • Conduct observations of the installation and acceptance testing for electrical materials, equipment and systems related to civil infrastructure, such as water/wastewater facilities, pump stations and pipelines, marine terminals, railroads, roads and highways, and airports.
  • Maintain accurate daily records of the work performed, and of the labor, equipment and materials used
  • Collaborate with other field representatives or Project Managers
  • Read and interpret construction drawings and specifications, and identify discrepancies or conflicts within the documents
  • Provide guidance to less‑experienced field staff as needed
  • Perform other duties as needed
  • Be willing to travel to remote Alaska for extended periods of time
  • Be comfortable with man‑camp living conditions
  • Be Willing to work overtime hours during construction season with limited time off
  • Have a positive attitude and willingness to learn

Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent;
  • Completion of a recognized five-year electrical apprenticeship program and submission of an apprenticeship certificate, or possession of a State journeyman's license
  • Sufficient journey level electrical construction and/or maintenance experience in a heavy industrial environment, with emphasis on work on 120V-480V systems and familiarity with high voltage( 480- 21,000 volts) systems
  • Knowledge of the National Electrical Code and other appropriate electrical standards and specifications
  • Experience with supervisor control and data acquisition systems (SCADA)
  • Experience in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Strong written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee‑owned culture is a must

This position may require a successful drug‑screen prior to hire and thereafter, based on client requirements and applicable country, state and/or provincial laws and regulations.
