The Commercial & Business Financial Services Officer primary role is to develop and execute the Commercial and Business Segment for lending and deposit products. In collaboration with internal corporate business partners it develops business strategy, grows the commercial and business membership and delivers on commercial goals. This includes cross‑selling all appropriate credit union services to new, existing and potential commercial and business members.
The role builds the commercial and business segment of the credit union portfolio by soliciting, promoting and communicating credit‑union membership and its benefits, maintaining high member retention and participating in community activities to promote the credit union and Denali.
This position is responsible for the quality and accuracy of all commercial and business loan and account transactions, opening new accounts and ensuring the proper documentation is complete on all new account openings with minimal exceptions. A primary focus is the member experience: the officer must represent Nuvision Federal Credit Union in a positive and professional manner at all times, showing mutual respect while building relationships internally and externally.
Confidentiality, attention to detail, sound judgment, tact and diplomacy are essential.
- Meet all commercial and business member needs by providing timely processing of loan and account transactions.
- Perform a broad range of duties related to member transactions, including opening/closing all types of deposit and loan accounts, posting deposits, withdrawals, and loan/VISA payments, performing account transfers, recommending other products and services, and maintaining commercial and business accounts.
- Ensure all transactions are accurate and completed in a timely manner to achieve Credit Union Member Service goals.
- Build strong, collaborative relationships with members to keep retention high and grow membership according to sales goals.
- Collaborate with commercial lending, small‑business team and retail partners to offer product development for the commercial and business segments, identify enhancements, and maintain high retention, including reviewing high‑profile member accounts weekly.
- Profile members to recommend and cross‑sell solutions such as Investment Services, Insurance Products, First Mortgages, small‑business lending, consumer deposit and lending services, and auto lending.
- Represent the credit union positively and professionally, building strong internal and external relationships.
- Maintain confidentiality of member information and demonstrate sound judgment, tact, and diplomacy.
- Implement, monitor, and ensure compliance with credit‑union policies and procedures related to commercial and business operations.
- Recommend changes to department procedures to improve efficiencies and exceed service and sales goals.
- Support and participate in continuous improvement activities.
- Maintain confidentiality of member, team member, and sensitive information.
- Treat co‑workers and members with respect.
- Support community activities, member relations, and events that promote member‑centric experiences.
- Other related duties as assigned.
- 18 months of financial institution experience with prior loan experience and achieving service and performance goals.
- Commercial lending and business services experience.
- Working knowledge of business deposit and loan products, commercial cash management experience.
- Proven ability to garner business.
- Ability to operate office machines including 10‑key.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to listen, understand, and anticipate member needs.
- Excellent customer‑service and problem‑resolution skills.
- Proficiency with PC and Microsoft applications (Outlook, Word, Excel).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in person and over the phone.
