The Department of Parks and Recreation is seeking a Youth Engagement Program (YEP) Crew Leader. The role leads a youth crew in trail building and parks improvement projects across Anchorage, ensuring project completion and safety.

• Lead a youth crew in trail building and parks improvement projects throughout Anchorage.
• Deliver instructions and motivational guidance to youth and assistant crew members.
• Coordinate and ensure completion of projects and event facilitation.
• Ensure the safe use of tools and equipment among crew.
• Transport program participants to sites using 15‑passenger vans.
• Administer first aid and CPR.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• One (1) year experience in the program or activity under consideration.
• Prior experience using recreational equipment.
• American Red Cross First Aid Certification and American Red Cross Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) or equivalent at time of hire.
• Valid State of Alaska Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record at time of hire.
• Capable of frequent bending, twisting, kneeling, lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds; able to work outdoors in inclement weather.
• Current police background check, firearm license (if required), and criminal background investigation per AS 12.62.160 and 12.62.400.

• Preference given to returning Seasonal Employees eligible for Recall and to Anchorage Municipal Employees Association (AMEA) employees.
• Military Service Interview Preference for Veterans; attach required DD Form 214 or equivalent.
• National Service volunteer experience valued.
• All certifications must remain current during employment.
