Summary

The Infection Preventionist (IP) is responsible for identifying, investigating, monitoring, and reporting healthcare‑associated infections. The IP collaborates with teams and individuals to create infection prevention strategies, provide feedback, and coordinate the infection prevention program. Ensures compliance with local, state, federal, and the Joint Commission standards relating to infection prevention.

Responsibilities
  • Promotes the ANMC philosophy, vision, and mission statement, and follows organizational and departmental policies and procedures to ensure the highest quality of care.
  • Adheres to regulatory guidelines and accreditation standards. Researches professional practice guidance in support of the Infection Prevention Program. Member of the Infection Control Committee (ICC).
  • Conducts active surveillance activities and participates in compliance audits and surveys.
