Clinical Dietitian PRN – Alaska Regional Hospital

We are seeking a Clinical Dietitian for a PRN position at Alaska Regional Hospital, part of HCA Healthcare. This role offers the flexibility of a part‑time, on‑call schedule while providing advanced patient nutrition care.

Collaborate as part of the interdisciplinary health care team to deliver high‑quality medical nutrition therapy (MNT) to patients of all age groups and acuity levels following the Nutrition Care Process. This position uses evidence‑based guidelines and the Academy Code of Ethics to ensure excellence in care.

• Perform timely nutrition screenings and assessments per Corporate Screening and Assessment Policy.
• Conduct nutrition‑focused physical exams on patients at nutritional risk.
• Identify patients at risk and evaluate age‑specific, developmentally and disease‑specific nutrition needs.
• Develop and implement individualized nutritional plans of care.
• Evaluate and monitor effectiveness of MNT interventions.
• Provide nutrition counseling to patients, families and/or caregivers.
• Earn a passing score of ≥80% on RD chart audits.
• Adhere to nutrition care guidelines, manuals, and department protocols.
• Apply the Academy Code of Ethics in all practice areas.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, or equivalent (required).
• Completion of an ACEND‑accredited supervised practice program (required).
• One to two years of hospital clinical nutrition experience (preferred).
• Licensed Registered Dietitian and current certification with the Commission on Dietetic.
