Specialty Medical Staffing is seeking a licensed Pharmacy Technician for a full-time contract opportunity with a behavioral health hospital in Anchorage, AK. This position offers a consistent weekday schedule, no weekend requirements, and the opportunity to gain valuable experience in a specialized inpatient pharmacy environment.
The assignment is expected to last at least six weeks, with the possibility of extension depending on facility staffing needs. This opportunity is well suited for a pharmacy technician interested in behavioral health, inpatient pharmacy operations, and working within a smaller, collaborative pharmacy team.
Requirements- Active Alaska Pharmacy Technician license required
- Previous acute care or behavioral health pharmacy experience preferred
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage medication inventory and maintain accurate records
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a hospital pharmacy team
- Commitment to medication safety and regulatory compliance
- Manage medication inventory, including ordering support, organization, and replenishment
- Prepare and coordinate medication deliveries to Omnicell automated dispensing cabinets
- Restock and maintain medication supplies throughout the facility
- Answer and appropriately direct calls from nursing staff and other healthcare professionals
- Maintain accurate pharmacy records and documentation
- Assist pharmacists with daily inpatient pharmacy operations
- Support safe and efficient medication distribution throughout the hospital
- Maintain compliance with applicable pharmacy regulations and facility procedures
- Consistent Monday–Friday daytime schedule
