Communications Lead

All Alaska Pediatric Partnership (A2P2) is hiring a Communications Lead to build a system where every Alaskan child has the support they need to grow and succeed.

Location

Anchorage office (Hybrid)

Compensation and Benefits

Salary: $80,000 – $90,000

Communications & Training Coordinator

Responsibilities
  • Maintain and execute A2P2’s Strategic Communications Plan, ensuring high‑quality messaging, tone, and brand identity across all platforms.
  • Oversee development and design of programs and campaigns, implementing tools to measure impact.
  • Translate outcomes, data, and research into compelling narratives that demonstrate A2P2’s scope and impact.
  • Create and edit A2P2’s external written and visual content—website, newsletters, social media, reports, briefs, op‑eds—across all digital platforms.
  • Promote relevant pediatric health content on public platforms, collaborate with partners, and participate in external work groups.
  • Execute and coordinate educational, outreach, and networking events within established budgets.
  • Develop, maintain, and deliver provider training modules and continuing education programs.
  • Plan and coordinate organization‑hosted events, manage contractors, vendors, venues, and sponsorship solicitations.
  • Support Program Leads with outreach presentations, editing and designing materials.
  • Assist fund development with tailored communications, impact reports, and organizational collateral to increase awareness.
  • Lead donor recognition and stewardship activities, ensuring timely acknowledgements.
  • Collaborate with Administration & Finance on grant‑related activities, providing written content for applications and reports.
  • Support advocacy and policy efforts through messaging, issue briefs, and public‑facing materials.
  • Advise leadership on innovative communication approaches for all programs, initiatives, and collaborations.
Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, Public Health, Public Policy, Business, Social Sciences or related field.

A minimum of five years’ experience in marketing, communications or public relations.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and social media platforms, with demonstrated ability to learn new software.

Preferred but Not Required
  • Experience working with diverse communities and promoting equity and inclusion.
  • Experience in nonprofit, public health, policy, or advocacy settings.
  • Knowledge of graphic design and basic design tools.
  • Understanding of public health, public policy, advocacy, developmental health, and social determinants of health.
  • Familiarity with Alaska’s child and family services landscape.
  • Experience managing staff and leading projects.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to present information to diverse audiences.
  • Strong editorial skills, self‑editing, and reviewing others’ work for external release.

  • Alignment with organization’s mission and core values.
  • Proficiency in computer programs and data systems to manage complex program components.
Travel

Occasional state and out‑of‑state travel, including small aircraft to rural locations.
