American Traveler is hiring a Labor & Delivery RN with Charge Nurse experience to work nights in a high-risk L&D unit at a Magnet, Level II Trauma facility.

• Work in a high-risk Labor & Delivery unit with OB Triage, LDR, OR, and PACU rooms
• Average 7 daily deliveries, with up to 14 patients during inductions and high-risk antepartum care
• OB Triage averages 4-5 third trimester testing patients plus daily triage influx
• Night shift schedule (3x12 or 4x12, 19:00-07:30)
• Every other weekend required
• May float to like units within the hospital or nearby affiliate facilities if needed
• No on-call requirements
• Epic EMR used

• Active AK RN license required in hand
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, AWHONN Intermediate, AWHONN Advanced, NRP
• Minimum 1 year of relevant experience required
• Charge Nurse experience required or willingness to train as charge
• Epic charting experience required
• Experience with high-risk L&D management, fetal monitoring, and postpartum care required
• 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required

• Magnet-designated, Level II Trauma acute care hospital recognized as a top hospital in Alaska
• Provide care across antepartum, labor and delivery, and postpartum patients, including high-risk cases
• Perform skills such as assisting with vaginal and C-section deliveries, fetal monitoring, and newborn assessment
• Scrubs are provided by the facility
• Must be willing to work 2 of the 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year)
• First-time travelers are accepted
• Former permanent staff must be separated from the facility for at least 3 months before returning as a traveler
• Travelers may work a maximum of 1 year in the assignment before requiring a 6-month break to return to the same facility
• Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility, and local candidates are not accepted
• RTO must be submitted with the application and is approved individually upon offer
