American Traveler is hiring a Labor & Delivery RN for a high-risk unit on night shift, requiring an active AK RN license in hand and at least 1 year of L&D experience.

• High-risk Labor & Delivery unit in an acute care hospital setting
• Unit includes 10 OB Triage rooms, 10 LDR rooms, 3 OR suites, and 4 PACU rooms
• Average of 7 daily deliveries, with up to 14 patients including inductions and high-risk antepartum cases
• OB Triage averages 4-5 third trimester testing patients plus daily triage volume
• Facility performs 100-200 births per month
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 or 4x12 hours (7:00 PM-7:30 AM)
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call requirements
• May float to similar units within the hospital or to nearby affiliate facilities as needed
• Charting completed in Epic

• Active AK RN license required in hand prior to offer
• Minimum 1 year of Labor & Delivery experience required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, AWHONN Intermediate, AWHONN Advanced, and NRP
• Epic charting experience required
• Charge nurse experience preferred or willingness to train as charge
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required
• Copies of certifications required for consideration
• Full SSN and DOB required for consideration

• Provide comprehensive care across antepartum, labor and delivery, and postpartum units
• Perform skills including fetal monitoring, IV therapy, medication administration (Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, antihypertensives), and assisting with vaginal and C-section deliveries
• Support neonatal care in the delivery room including APGAR scoring and newborn assessments
• Magnet-designated, Level II Trauma facility recognized as a top hospital in Alaska
• Scrubs provided by facility
• Candidates must be willing to work 2 of the 3 major holidays:
  Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's
• Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates not accepted
• Former permanent staff must be separated from the health system for at least 3 months before returning as a travel employee
• Maximum assignment length of 1 calendar year at this facility, followed by a required 6-month break before returning
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Candidates may only apply to one location within the regional health system
• Requested time off must be submitted with the application and is approved on an individual basis upon offer
• Hepatitis B vaccination required; titers or declinations not accepted
