American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a night shift assignment requiring an active AK RN license and at least 1 year of experience in a Level II Trauma, Magnet-designated hospital.
Requirements- Active AK RN license (license pending accepted, but must be in hand for auto offer)
- BLS certification required
- Minimum 1 year of recent experience required
- Experience with IV therapy, central/peripheral line care, and blood product administration
- Respiratory care skills including BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, and oxygen administration
- Experience with wound care/wound vac and isolation precautions/PPE
- Neurological and orthopedic care experience preferred, including CVA, TBI, and total joint replacement
- Experience with cardiac monitoring, telemetry, and rapid response/code team involvement
- Epic EMR experience preferred
- Two supervisory references covering at least 1 year within the last 3 years required
- Full SSN and DOB required for submission
- Med/Surg Tele unit caring for ortho, neuro, telemetry, morbidly obese, bariatric surgery, and general medical patients
- Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 7:00 PM-7:30 AM)
- Weekend coverage may exceed every other weekend based on staffing needs
- May float within scope to like units, including sister facilities
- No on-call requirements
- No block scheduling accommodations
- Charting performed in Epic
- Scrubs provided by facility
- Free parking available
- Work in a Magnet-designated, Level II Trauma acute care hospital recognized as a USNWR Best Hospital in Alaska
- 407 staffed beds facility
- Must disclose any prior work history with the health system, including permanent, travel, or per-diem roles
- Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a travel RN
- Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to be considered
- All RTO requests must be submitted upfront; post-offer time off may not be accommodated
- Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
- Travelers may be required to float between sister facilities within the region
- First-time travelers may be considered depending on experience and interview
