Cook - Providence Anchorage

Overview

Description Under limited supervision of a supervisor or Director of Food and Nutrition, the Cook II will provide courteous, friendly food service while preparing the required portions of food items for both patients and non-patients utilizing Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP) principles during all phases of food handling. Their essential job focus will be on preparing hot and cold food items, using a variety of cooking equipment, while following scratch recipes and department specifications.

We are hiring for the following Cook positions in the Food Nutrition Department at Providence Alaska Medical Center in Anchorage, AK. This position is full-time, 1.0 FTE, 8-hour Day shifts, 40 hours per week.

Provide courteous, friendly food service while preparing required portions of food items for patients and non-patients. Follow HACCP principles during all phases of food handling. Prepare hot and cold food items using a variety of cooking equipment and follow scratch recipes and department specifications.

Required Qualifications:

• National Food Handler Card - State County City Authority upon hire.
• 2 years - Quantity food preparation.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Coursework/Training - Specific vocational training.

The amount listed is the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
