Geologist - ACES JOB SUMMARY
ASRC Consulting & Environmental Services (ACES) is excited to announce an excellent opportunity for skilled and motivated Geologists to join our dynamic team. This role will primarily focus on supporting and/or leading contaminated site assessments, investigations, and remediation activities across the state of Alaska. In addition to working on contaminated sites, the ACES team provides ample opportunities to broaden your skillset through collaboration on diverse service lines, including wetland studies, fisheries, biology, cultural resources, and technology/innovation.

- Conduct contaminated site assessments, investigations, and remediation activities across various projects.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement project strategies.
- Analyze environmental data, prepare reports, and ensure compliance with state, federal, and local environmental regulations.
- Assist with the planning and execution of site investigations, remediation designs, and environmental risk assessments.
- Provide technical expertise in environmental issues, offering guidance and recommendations to clients and stakeholders.
- Work closely with project managers to track budgets, timelines, and deliverables.
- Participate in site assessments for wetlands, fisheries, and other environmental services, expanding expertise across service lines.
- Mentor and support junior team members, fostering a collaborative and positive work environment.
- Possess a Valid State Driver’s License
- Possess or be close to completing a Bachelor’s or higher degree in Environmental Science, Geology, Environmental Engineering, Chemistry, or a related field
- Ability to demonstrate the qualifications necessary to meet ADEC’s definition of a Qualified Environmental Professional or meet those qualifications within 3-6 months.
- Possess a strong understanding of state, federal, and local environmental regulations (18 AAC 75 and 18 AAC 78).
- Have experience with contaminated site assessments, investigations, and remediation projects.
- Be able to analyze and interpret environmental data, creating clear and concise reports.
- Have the ability to communicate complex technical information effectively to clients, regulators, and other stakeholders.
- Hazardous Waste Operation and Emergency Response training with current 8-hour refresher.
- Experience working in the Alaska environment and understanding local challenges.
- Familiarity with wetlands, fisheries, biology, or technology and innovation in the environmental field.
- Professional certifications or licensure.
- Possess experience working/training in field environments pertaining to geology or environmental science
- Possess 1-7+ years of related experience preferred
