Transportation Security Officer (TSO)

Anchorage, AK – Airline and airport security specialist responsible for screening air travelers, protecting aircraft, and maintaining a safe and professional environment.

• Operate screening equipment to detect and prevent dangerous objects in baggage, cargo, and on passengers.
• Conduct physical searches and bag searches, lifting bags up to 50 lbs.
• Control terminal entry and exit points.
• Interact with the public, provide directions, and respond to inquiries.
• Maintain focus and awareness in a high‑stress environment with noise and passenger distractions.
• Apply risk‑based security protocols and adapt to new situations.
• Follow all Standard Operating Procedures and maintain professional conduct.

• U.S. citizenship or U.S. national.
• Minimum age 18.
• Selective Service registration required.
• Ability to pass a structured interview, drug screening, medical evaluation, background investigation, and post‑employment random testing.
• Proficiency in English.
• Availability to work various shifts, overtime, and travel as required.
• Physical fitness to lift and move baggage (~50 lbs) and walk up to 3 miles per shift.

• Squat and bend frequently.
• Lift and manipulate baggage weighing up to 50 lbs.
• Walk up to 3 miles during a shift and stand for up to 4 hours.

Full‑time positions require 40 hours per week, with shift work including irregular hours, nights, holidays, overtime, and split shifts. Part‑time shifts range from 16–32 hours per week with similar shift patterns.
