Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED certification
  • Valid DOT physical card and driver’s license
  • Certification in the use of refrigerants, recycling equipment, AC, and heavy brakes
  • Ability to drive a repair vehicle off the premises for emergency repairs
  • Willingness to work full-time, any shift, and be on call 24 hours a day

Preferred Qualifications

  • Mechanical or trade school certification
  • Strong electrical background with Volvo/Cummins experience
  • Welding experience (TIG, MIG, Stick)

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative maintenance on diesel tractors, trailers, and refrigeration units
  • Troubleshoot and repair equipment problems
  • Respond to drivers’ telephone requests for assistance while on the road
  • Repair all equipment components, including engine, starting/charging, electrical, body, wheels, brakes, suspension, and interior
  • Supply own tools up to 1/2” drive size, including air tools
  • Follow company procedures and ensure a safe work environment
  • Perform additional duties such as facility maintenance, MHE, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and ammonia refrigeration as assigned

Additional Details

This is a union position; union membership and a dispatch letter are required prior to starting.

All applicants must pass a pre-employment drug test in a drug‑free workplace environment.

Typical warehouse noise levels include material handling equipment. Temperatures may range from minus 15 degrees to ambient. Schedules can include swing shifts, graveyards, weekends, and holidays.
