Working independently or under minimal supervision, installs, inspects, troubleshoots, repairs and maintains complex electrical systems, components, equipment, and facilities in rural Alaska. Performs highly responsible work in accordance with local and national electrical codes and regulations.
Responsibilities- Provides all electrical distributions and control systems for ANTHC project facilities including well houses, sewage lift stations, water and wastewater treatment plants, washeterias, and other buildings and homes as required.
- Assesses, adjusts priorities, and refocuses efforts to meet individual project requirements, workload, and program objectives.
- Installs system components and wiring in compliance with the NEC, NESC, NFPA, and the UFC.
- Installs, troubleshoots, repairs, and maintains high‑level and complex electrical components and systems across varying applications.
- Installs and maintains emergency generators, power distribution systems, and site‑specific electrical systems.
- Performs retrofitting of equipment with updated technological controls to improve performance and efficiency.
- Determines layout, constructs, installs, and tests electrical service, distribution, and control panels.
- Orders and maintains adequate stock levels of electrical system parts and supplies.
- Reviews blueprints and specifications, ensuring drawings function as designed.
- Conducts project review, planning, and proposes changes or modifications to plan sets and specifications.
- Conducts as‑built surveys of electrical jobs and panels as required.
- Identifies defective equipment and performs repairs or replacements.
- Inspects, repairs, and maintains electronic devices.
- Responds to emergency service calls, repairs, and assists other trade workers.
