With a strong foundation built on integrity, craftsmanship, and teamwork, we take pride in supporting our clients from project planning through completion.

At Samson Electric, we believe in building lasting relationships—with our clients, our vendors, and our employees. We foster a collaborative and safe work environment where growth is encouraged, contributions are valued, and success is shared.

Position Overview

The Expeditor supports the Purchasing Manager in planning and executing daily activities related to receiving and dispatching accurate orders. This role requires strong communication with Project Managers and site personnel to provide realistic time frames and alternative options for materials or equipment based on each unique situation.

Success in this position depends on being highly organized and proactive—anticipating obstacles and recommending solutions rather than focusing solely on the immediate task. The work environment is dynamic, with no two days alike, so clear and timely communication is essential to manage multiple priorities safely and effectively.

Key Responsibilities
  • Inspect orders upon pickup or arrival to confirm correct materials are expedited according to the materials list.
  • Resolve any discrepancies before leaving for delivery and seek management input when necessary.
  • Maintain legible shipping invoices, pick tickets, and related documents for accurate processing; ensure appropriate personnel receive copies.
  • Adjust and communicate delivery schedules for supplies, materials, and equipment based on changing priorities.
  • Secure loads to ensure safe, damage-free transportation.
  • Inform Project Managers and the Purchasing Manager of any needs or challenges at job sites.
  • Plan and coordinate efficient routes for material transfers between locations, incorporating input as needed.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with suppliers, vendors, and project site personnel.
  • Communicate challenges promptly to all relevant parties.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Physical Abilities
  • Climb ladders and access equipment, lifts, and work platforms safely.
  • Walk briskly over uneven terrain and various surfaces in adverse weather conditions.
  • Perform tasks requiring bending, kneeling, stooping, and squatting into work positions.
  • Lift and transport loads of 50–75 pounds safely without injury.
  • Execute work effectively in all weather conditions.
Mental & Cognitive Skills
  • Analyze technical information and apply it accurately to tasks.
  • Maintain mental alertness and focus during hands‑on labor.
  • Demonstrate strong organizational skills, self‑motivation, and teamwork.
  • Adapt to changing priorities and accept constructive feedback.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively across all levels.
  • Solve problems efficiently, especially under pressure.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or have valid legal work status in the U.S. for I‑9 and E‑Verify.
  • Must be able to pass military installation base clearance requirements and maintain their access standards.
  • Must pass drug & alcohol screening and criminal background checks.
  • Must have a satisfactory driving record and maintain it.
  • Must be able to pass and keep a DOT medical certification.
  • Maintain a valid B or A Driver’s License and personal vehicle insurance.

  • Previous experience as an electrical construction expeditor.
  • Skilled in operating heavy commercial equipment such as skid steers, forklifts, and excavators.
  • Mechanical aptitude to troubleshoot and resolve minor mechanical issues.
  • Experience operating trucks with trailers.
