Position: Maintenance Specialist - Bldg/Facility/Const, Journey 2/Lead (PCN 20-6517)

The Department of Corrections, Division of Institutions, is recruiting for a Maintenance Specialist, Building/Facility/Construction, Journey 2/Lead, for the Highland Mountain Correctional Center, located in Eagle River, Alaska.

What you will be doing.

Under general direction of the Maintenance Lead, this position is responsible for a variety of exciting work which involves maintaining and repairing infrastructure of the Hiland Mountain Correctional Center. These include but are not limited to perimeter security systems, CCTV camera systems, cable television systems, electronic doors and locks, fire protection systems, telephone and telephone voice mail systems, intercom systems, HVAC systems, and computer networking wiring systems.

This position is essential for the overall security of the facility, protection of the public, the well‑being and safety of inmates who reside at Hiland Mountain Correctional Center, as well as the employees who work at the facility by ensuring that systems operate in an acceptable manner.

The institution includes 11 buildings, containing approximately 120,000 square feet of space. The facility contains 5 housing units and several common areas that require constant support and maintenance.
