Position: Protective Services Specialist 3 (PCN 027498)

Protective Services Specialist

This individual exempt position is open to Alaskan residents only. Qualified applicants are encouraged to apply.

Job Overview

Provide advanced‑level casework to investigate, mediate, and coordinate protective and statewide supportive services for vulnerable adults, addressing significant behavioral, medical, mental health, and socio‑economic conditions throughout the life span.

Frequent travel within the state of Alaska is required.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct face‑to‑face visits, review records, and perform safety and risk assessments to determine the safety and well‑being of the vulnerable adult.
  • Engage with vulnerable populations to assess decision‑making capacity and provide decision‑making support.
  • Investigate allegations of abuse, neglect, or exploitation; collaborate with families and professionals.
  • Provide counseling, referrals, and support services while encouraging self‑care.
  • Document and report case findings in alignment with departmental policies and legal standards.

  • Valid Alaska driver’s license and ability to travel.
