The Medical Assistant Lead performs advanced clinical and administrative functions to support physicians and nurses within the medical practice. This role leads day‑to‑day operations of the clinical support team, ensures high standards of patient care, and functions as a mentor and resource for other Medical Assistants. The Lead utilizes certified‑level competencies to deliver excellent patient outcomes while maintaining regulatory compliance, clinical efficiency, and service excellence.

• Perform and oversee clinical procedures including rooming patients, vital signs, EKGs, specimen collection, wound care, and immunizations.
• Assist in preparation and administration of medications under physician direction.
• Supervise and support day‑to‑day clinical operations, workflows, and staff assignments.
• Serve as a preceptor and mentor for new and uncertified Medical Assistants.
• Coordinate patient care activities such as referrals, prior authorizations, and education.
• Ensure proper documentation and maintain EMR accuracy for clinical tasks.
• Monitor inventory, maintain equipment, and ensure clinical readiness.
• Uphold and audit compliance with OSHA, HIPAA, and infection control standards.
• Lead or support quality improvement initiatives and staff training programs.
• Function as liaison between clinical staff and leadership to address operational issues.

• Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and pharmacology.
• Proficiency in electronic medical records and clinical software.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to triage and elevate patient concerns appropriately.

• Ability to remain calm and effective under pressure.

• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• Current certification as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, or equivalent) required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required at time of hire.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a medical office or outpatient clinic setting.
• Prior leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
