Power South Energy Cooperative, headquartered in Andalusia, AL, is a generation and transmission electric cooperative serving the wholesale power needs of 20 distribution members in Alabama and northwest Florida. The purpose of this position is to install, configure, deploy, patch, and upgrade hardware and software; monitor application and system performance; troubleshoot issues; and ensure security and efficiency of CIS infrastructure. Requirements include a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a closely related field and at least one year of system administration experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Candidates must have high-level problem‑solving, analytical, and critical‑thinking skills, operational knowledge of UNIX and/or Windows operating systems, server virtualization, relational databases, and programming languages.

• Assist with monitoring applications and servers for performance and security issues, upgrading applications and servers as required.
• Help implement and administer the database environment, applying security patches and upgrades.
• Support application implementation, including application, database, and user security.
• Perform support functions as directed by the supervisor to meet corporate and department goals.
• Promote teamwork, group goals, and effective communication within the department, division, and the broader organization, and with member systems.
