Shift: 7 p‑7 a.

• Responsible for the processes of assessment, reassessment, establishment of nursing diagnoses, formulation of the written plan of care, implementation of care, and evaluation of care.
• Initiates health‑care training and education to clients/families as required while supporting and fostering the goals of Andalusia Health and the Department of Nursing.
• Demonstrates awareness of ongoing unit needs and provides leadership and direction to other team members in maintaining optimal nursing standards.
• Accountable for the supervision of licensed and non‑licensed nursing personnel for assigned units.
• Requires flexibility in scheduling and ability to work all shift patterns, including weekends and holidays, to ensure continuity of care and appropriate coverage.
• Provides care to all patient populations with consideration to age‑specificity and diagnosis.

Education and Experience

• Associate’s degree: required.

• Ability to function in stressful situations.
• Verbal ability to present information and ideas related to nursing theory and practice.
• Ability to accept responsibility and accountability to provide, delegate, and coordinate nursing care on assigned units with leadership qualities.
• Cognitive and practical ability to provide nursing care appropriate to the patient population, including full implementation of the nursing process (assessment/reassessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, evaluation).

Certifications

• Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)

Licenses

• Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Alabama.

Additional Requirements

• BLS/CPR required within 30 days of hire date.
• ACLS required within 6 months of employment.
