Engineer - Assembly (1st Shift, NTN Driveshaft Anderson/Anderson, IN)
Assembly Engineer – Hands-On Role in Advanced Manufacturing
About The Role
NTN Driveshaft Anderson, Inc. is seeking a hands‑on Assembly Engineer to join our Engineering team. In this role, you’ll develop, implement, and improve assembly processes for constant velocity joints (CVJs). You’ll work closely with cross‑functional teams to enhance productivity, quality, and safety in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment.
What You’ll Do
- Support, develop, and improve manufacturing methods for assembly operations.
- Test and evaluate equipment and components to eliminate failures and boost productivity.
- Develop methods to maintain or increase production levels while improving safety, cost, and quality.
- Design and improve tooling for CVJ assembly through reverse engineering and new designs.
- Troubleshoot assembly process issues and implement solutions to reduce downtime and maintenance costs.
- Plan and perform plant trials to determine performance capabilities.
- Lead cost reduction activities and collaborate with Manufacturing and Quality teams.
- Serve as technical leader for the Engineering team, including technicians and support engineers.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or related Engineering field (or equivalent experience).
- 3+ years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
- Ability to read electrical schematics, pneumatic/hydraulic diagrams, and machine blueprints.
- Experience with CAD software (AutoCAD, Inventor, Solid Works) a plus.
- Familiarity with troubleshooting and programming robots, PLCs, servo controllers, and VFDs a plus.
- Strong problem‑solving, organizational, and project management skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
