Job Overview

Department: Madison County Prosecutor’s Office:
Criminal Division
Work Schedule: Monday – Friday 8:00 A.M. – 4:00 P.M.
Status: Full-Time
FLSA Status: Exempt
Salary: $57,750 per annum
Benefits: PERF Pension; PSLF eligible; full-county benefits including medical and dental; take-home vehicle; vacation, sick, and personal time benefits.
Residency Requirement: None

• Conduct follow-up investigations for criminal cases at the direction of deputy prosecutors.
• Locate, interview, and transport witnesses.
• Investigate walk-in complaints and referrals.
• Assist with case preparation, service of process, and trial support.
• Coordinate with local, state, and federal law-enforcement agencies.
• Maintain accurate reports and documentation in accordance with office standards.
• Investigate compulsory school attendance violations, educational neglect, nonsupport of a dependent, harassment or intimidation of victims or witnesses, violations of no contact/protective orders, and other investigations assigned by the Prosecuting Attorney or Chief Deputy Prosecuting Attorney.

• Must possess a high school diploma or its equivalent. Bachelors preferred.
• Must be a former full-time law enforcement officer who has graduated from the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy or another state’s equivalent.
• Must complete any and all training as required by the Prosecuting Attorney.
• Ability to pass a comprehensive background check.
