Maintenance Technician

This position has the responsibility to assist the Maintenance Department in routine maintenance and functionality of the Anderson Campus.

Essential Functions:

* Open and secure buildings as required.

* Professionally assist students and staff alike.

* Oversee daily operation of the Anderson Campus in the absence of the Maintenance Manager.

* Daily sorting/routing/deliveries of common carriers.

* Coordination/management of general institutional expendable supplies.

* Building Construction-New installations, remodeling and preventive maintenance of ceilings, walls and floors.

* Electrical-Assist advanced Maintenance Mechanics in installation of new electrical outlets and cabling.

* Plumbing-Assist advanced Maintenance Mechanics in plumbing installation.

* Equipment-Assist advanced Maintenance Mechanics in preventive maintenance/repair of motorized and specialized equipment.

* Grounds-weed control, landscaping, trimming, clean parking lots, driveways and sidewalks.

* Provide leadership and supervision to part-time and temporary employees..

* Assist the Maintenance Manager as needed.

Minimum job requirements (education, experience, and skills) required to perform essential functions:

* High school diploma or GED, proven experience in the building trades preferred.

* Physically able to perform the duties of the position.

* Punctual, well groomed, dependable and able to get along well with others.

* Strong organizational abilities, basic math/bookkeeping skills

* General computer literacy (or be willing to receive immediate training)

Preferred Qualifications:

* Proven experiences in the building trades preferred.
