H&M Surveying is seeking experienced Professional Land Surveyors who want more than a desk, a production queue, and another title. This is a professional leadership position with real responsibility, decision-making authority, and the organizational support to succeed.

You lead the work. We provide the infrastructure to support you.

As a PLSIRC, you will:

• Exercise professional responsible charge over assigned surveying projects.
• Lead projects from authorization through planning, field operations, production, QA/QC, delivery, and closeout.
• Direct, mentor, and develop field crews and technical professionals.
• Manage project schedules, budgets, work in progress (WIP), and profitability.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships.
• Review and approve professional surveying work in accordance with applicable laws and standards.
• Coordinate project priorities and resources with H&M's Operations Manager.
• Identify project risks, solve problems, and drive successful outcomes.
• Help develop future crew chiefs, project leaders, and licensed surveyors.

Required Qualifications

• Active Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license in South Carolina and/or Georgia, or eligibility for licensure through comity.
• Strong understanding of professional surveying practices and standards.
• Ability to exercise independent professional judgment and accept responsibility for project outcomes.
• Effective communication and organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with boundary, ALTA/NSPS, topographic, construction, roadway/DOT, utility, or related surveying services.
• Experience leading surveying projects, field crews, or technical teams.
• Understanding of project budgets, scheduling, client service, and profitability.
• Interest in mentoring others and developing as a professional leader.

We're not looking for someone whose only responsibility is reviewing surveys and signing plats.

Our PLSIRCs lead the professional, operational, and business aspects of their assigned projects.
