Position SummaryThe Shift Leader assists the General Manager or Person In Charge (on duty) with management activities and duties. This role collaborates with the Restaurant Management Team to ensure all activities align with the restaurant’s business plan and that all Crew Persons and Team Leaders perform their responsibilities effectively.
Essential Functions- Consistently provides quality products and customer service to ensure total customer satisfaction.
- Works to improve the skills and performance of all Crew Persons.
- Supports efforts to maximize sales and profits while minimizing controllable costs by assisting management and leading shift activities.
- Adheres to all company policies and procedures regarding business and personnel practices.
- Models and promotes company values.
- Communicates effectively with internal and external contacts through oral and written means.
- Participates in training, company meetings, webinars, and conference calls to stay current on industry trends.
- Performs additional duties or projects as needed based on business conditions.
- Approximately 2-3 years of experience and/or education demonstrating knowledge of restaurant management.
- High School Diploma/GED required.
- Excellent planning, time management, team-building, investigative, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to troubleshoot cash handling issues.
- Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and proof of insurance required.
- Must have a communication method (telephone or other) and be accessible to meet restaurant needs.
- Bi-lingual skills are a plus.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills with the ability to implement process improvements.
- Fast-paced environment with kitchen equipment in tight quarters.
- Physical ability to stand for long periods, bend, stoop, work around heat, and lift 50-75 lbs.
- Ability to work with various cleaning products.
