Salary: £41,622 – £57,891 per annum (HG 8-10)

The reduction of greenhouse gas emissions in the built environment is an urgent challenge and an important priority for the service; using your expertise you’ll be expected to make a valuable contribution to this.

• Provide guidance and advice on all building control matters.
• Involved in a wide range of projects including residential, commercial and mixed‑use schemes.
• Deal with dangerous structures and attend other emergency incidents.
• Participate in partnership working agreements and develop effective client relationships.
• Support training and development of employees, provide mentoring support to trainees and assist colleagues, especially at Senior level.
• Promote a good work/life balance, offering flexible working hours and some home‑working opportunities.
• Use remote/mobile working technology to support flexible service delivery.

• Experience as a Building Control Surveyor, currently acting at Area or Senior level.
• Enthusiastic, self‑motivated and able to work independently.
• Strong knowledge of building control legislation and standards.
• Good communication skills and ability to build client relationships.

• Salary range £41,622 – £57,891 per annum (HG 8-10).
