Responsibilities and duties of the Commissioning Engineer role

Reporting to the Operations Manager you will:

  • Lead the testing and commissioning of generator systems, ensuring compliance with design specifications and client requirements
  • Act as the lead commissioning engineer on site, managing commissioning activities through to completion
  • Collaborate with Design Engineers and Project Managers during internal planning and design meetings
  • Coordinate commissioning activities with external stakeholders including M&E contractors, BMS engineers, DNOs and client teams
  • Manage commissioning programmes safely and in line with project schedules
  • Record test results, witness final testing, and compile commissioning and handover documentation
  • Deliver on-site handover training to client personnel
  • Support Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and assist with installations where required
  • Travel nationwide with regular overnight stays
Professional qualifications

We are looking for someone with the following:

  • Minimum 3 years' experience in generator commissioning or a similar role
  • Strong practical knowledge of LV power generation and distribution systems
  • Experience with Com Ap and Deep Sea control systems
  • Familiarity with commissioning software such as Com Ap PC Suite and DSE Configuration Suite
  • Experience with multi-set systems, synchronisation with mains, and G99 testing
  • PLC programming experience
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office
  • Full UK driving licence and right to work in the UK
