Streamline Recruitment are working in partnership with a long-standing client within the logistics industry who are looking to appoint an experienced Transport Manager to oversee the day-to-day transport operation at their Andover site.

You will be responsible for managing resources effectively while working closely with supervisors, planners and drivers to maintain high operational standards. The position will focus on improving performance, ensuring full legal compliance and supporting a strong culture around safety, service and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

* Oversee the daily transport operation, ensuring resources are used effectively to deliver safe and efficient services.

* Work closely with planning, operations and other on-site departments to improve coordination and deliver practical solutions for both internal and external customers.

* Develop and maintain operational procedures, service standards and policies that support continuous improvement across the transport function.

* Ensure full compliance with all transport legislation and industry regulations, implementing and monitoring safety procedures across the depot.

* Investigate accidents, incidents and near misses, identifying root causes and introducing corrective actions to reduce future risk.

* Lead and support the transport team through effective people management, including recruitment, performance management and development.

* Support training and development initiatives to strengthen the skills and capabilities of the transport team.

* Take ownership of the department’s financial performance, monitoring costs and supporting initiatives to improve profitability.

* Assist with budget planning and forecasting while supporting supervisors and management colleagues in achieving financial targets.

Skills, Qualifications & Experience

* Transport Manager CPC (essential)

* Experience using Transport Management Systems

* Experience working with multiple internal departments and external stakeholders

* Experience managing departmental budgets or financial performance

Monday – Friday 08:00-16:00 with flexibility
