Production Operative

Nicholas Howard are delighted to be recruiting for a Production Operative. The successful candidate should have a strong understanding of electrical/electro-mechanical systems, with the ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and work instructions. Knowledge of electronic basics are key. Integration of components and PCB’s in manufacturing along with wiring assembly and the ability to read assembly drawings. Wire looming experience and soldering skills are essential along with a strong attention to detail.

Accountabilities:
Carry out the wiring, on electronic assemblies, using, predetermined programs and works orders, detailed work instructions or drawings to the required company standard and/or programme standards. Work must be completed to an acceptable quality level, as defined by these standards, with the minimum of rejects pect and test completed assemblies as required. Cuts, strip, and terminate wires to connector’s and electrical/electro-mechanical units.

To work on your own initiative, independently and quickly with minimum supervision. Follow production drawings and sample assemblies or receive verbal instructions regarding duties to be performed. Be highly proficient in prototype wiring, crimping and soldering. Assist the production team as required on all build projects. Working alongside the team and any issues and improvements. Notify errors on procedures, drawings, bills of material, and routes to the support teams (Quality, Manufacturing Engineering).

Experience:

Excellent soldering and workmanship standards to meet the requirements of the defence sector. Excellent organisational and coordination skills paying particular attention to detail. Knowledge of tools and instruments of the wiring trade. Ability to work with some supervision. PCB Assembly.

Required:

2 years’ experience of wiring. Electronic experience in a manufacturing environment. Cable manufacture and looming. Electrical wiring knowledge.

Experience of working to deadlines with the ability to multitask and work under pressure. Desirable:
Ability to build working relationships quickly and effectively across all levels of an organisation. Ability to communicate effectively to senior staff/managers.
