Domestic Abuse Worker

Domestic Abuse Worker Temporary - ongoing To start ASAP Full time hours including a rota basis and weekends Rochdale £17 - £18 per hour Morgan Hunt is currently working with a Domestic Abuse Worker to work across dispersed refuge in Rochdale on a temporary basis. This is a full-time role, working on a rota basis which includes weekends. The role As a Domestic Abuse Worker, this role will involve regular interaction with complex vulnerable clients in the community address support needs.

Triage, accept and action new referrals including move in / move on procedures. Assess the needs of all clients using the appropriate paperwork and in conjunction with them devise a SMART plan to address identified need. Ensure housing benefit is claimed efficiently and rent payments are received for the duration of the stay. Assess the risk of all clients, completing risk management plans to address any risk identified.

The candidate An understanding of individuals and families who have or are experiencing domestic abuse. Knowledge of working as part of a team, working on own initiative and managing time effectively. Knowledge of devising needs assessment support plans and providing support in relation to these.

Experience of trauma informed working, recognising support required around mental health, substance misuse issues, sex work and exploitation. Knowledge of the impact of multiple disadvantages, complex support needs and homelessness. As this role is to start as soon as possible, the successful candidate must have a DBS registered on the update service and have access to a car for work.
