Mini Bus Driver

We’re looking for reliable and caring volunteers to support young carers by helping them travel safely to and from their after‑school sessions. As a minibus driver, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring young carers can attend the support groups that give them a break, connection, and space to just be children.

You’ll be part of a friendly and supportive team at AYC, helping young people access essential services. No specialist minibus qualifications are required — just a suitable driving licence, a willingness to help, and a commitment to keeping young people safe.

This is a rewarding opportunity for anyone who enjoys driving, wants to give back to the community, and can spare time on weekday afternoons. Your contribution will make a real and positive difference to the lives of young carers.

Volunteer minibus drivers help transport young carers from school to the AYC Bungalow for their after‑school sessions, and then safely home again at the end of the group. Drivers are also needed for occasional activities, trips, and outings during school holidays. This role helps young carers access support, enjoy time with friends, and take part in activities that offer a break from their caring responsibilities.

• A full, clean driving licence. (If the licence was obtained before 1 January 1997, the AYC minibus can be driven without a D1)
• Confidence and ability to drive a minibus.
• Reliable, calm and safety‑minded.
• Enjoy helping young people and supporting the community.
