Lorry Driver Operative 7.5tn

Location:

Sussex / Ham Hill

Hourly rate: £16ph

Permanent, Full-time

Project Partners are now recruiting for an experienced Lorry Driver Operative who has worked up to 7.5tn. The purpose of the role is to assist with the daily workload, running materials to and from site, carrying out muck away and helping on site.

Role responsibilities:
  • Loading and unloading the lorry - safely and efficiently load and unload materials, ensuring correct weight distribution and securing loads in compliance with safety regulations.
  • Transporting materials to and from site - deliver construction materials to designated sites and return surplus or unused materials to the depot, maintaining accurate delivery records.
  • Running muck away - collect and transport waste or spoil from site to approved disposal locations, adhering to environmental and legal requirements.
  • Assisting on site when required - support site teams with general duties, including handling materials, operating equipment (where trained), and maintaining a clean and safe working environment.
  • Participating in call out rota - be available for emergency or out of hours as part of a one-in four call-out schedule, ensuring a timely response to urgent operational needs.
  • Health and safety adherence - follow all health and safety protocols, including wearing appropriate PPE and reporting hazards or incidents immediately.
Knowledge and

Skills required:
  • Good knowledge of civils work
  • Ability to safely load, secure and unload materials
  • Good communication and teamwork skills for working with site teams
  • Time management and organisation skills to meet delivery schedules
  • Understanding of Health and Safety regulations and safe working practices
Experience required
  • Experience as a driver or general operative, or similar role in construction
  • Proven track record of working in a fast-paced, multi-site environment
  • Familiarity with construction site operations and material handling
Essential

Qualifications:
  • Full, valid UK driving licence
  • Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC)
