Trueline’s client, a well-established heavy civil construction firm based in Massachusetts, is seeking an experienced Estimator/Project Manager to join their growing team. This full-time position offers the chance to lead both the estimating and project management functions on complex site development work throughout the Greater Boston area. The role provides competitive compensation, strong benefits, and the opportunity to be part of a collaborative, family-oriented environment with projects located within a 60-mile radius of the company’s home base.
What You’ll Do:- Oversee full project lifecycle—from preconstruction through closeout—for site development and heavy civil projects
- Develop detailed cost estimates, scopes of work, and bid packages
- Coordinate closely with field teams to ensure plans are executable and aligned with budget
- Interface with clients, engineers, and subcontractors to maintain clear communication and expectations
- Manage project schedules, budgets, RFIs, and submittals
- Lead value engineering efforts and identify cost-saving opportunities
- Prepare and track change orders, forecasts, and progress reports
- Ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, and quality standards
- Serve as the main point of contact for project execution and delivery
- 7+ years of experience in heavy civil construction with a background in both estimating and project management
- Strong knowledge of earthwork, utilities, roadway, and site development scopes
- Proven ability to manage costs, timelines, and subcontractor coordination
- Experience preparing accurate estimates and bids based on project specs and drawings
- Proficiency in construction management software and Excel
- Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills
- Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
- Familiarity with public and private bid processes in Massachusetts
- Experience working on projects in the Greater Boston area
- Working knowledge of scheduling tools like MS Project or Primavera
