Overview

Part-time No Benefits $54.22/hour

Hours 10-15/week - approx. 35 week program (Sept. 15, 2025-June 5, 2026)

District-based, Itinerant/multiple schools (grades 6-12)

Reports to EL Program Coordinator

Responsibilities
  • Support Multilingual/English learners individually, in small groups, and in the general education classroom
  • Co-plan with English language/ESL and core academic teachers to develop lesson activities that facilitate acquisition of social and academic English, proficiency in US school culture, numeracy skills, and grade-level curricula
  • Work with English language/ESL teacher(s) to provide appropriate adjustments of the child s regular classroom assignments, assessments, and homework with respect to levels of English language proficiency and academic experience
  • Provide assistance with homework and study skills
  • Qualifications
    • Minimum of 4-year college degree and teaching/tutoring experience
    • Fluency in a World Language and demonstration of cultural proficiency preferred
    • Knowledge of or experience working with Multilingual learners/English learners preferred
    • Preferred certification as Teacher of English as a Second Language, Bilingual Education (Spanish, Portuguese, Arabic, Chinese), General Education with SEI endorsement or Reading specialist with SEI endorsement preferred

    This position is dependent upon grant funding.
