Mathematics Teacher

The Mathematics Department seeks candidates who embody APS’s ethos, which includes valuing the identities of all students, high expectations for all students, teaching excellence, collaboration, innovation, respect, and responsibility.

Responsibilities:

Integrate social learning into the classroom and foster an identity-safe, empathetic, active learning community.

Develop and implement lesson plans for five Math classes with clear learning targets aligned with the 2017 Massachusetts Curriculum Framework for Mathematics.

Communicate regularly with students and families, involving families as partners in education.

Collaborate with team members, including special educators, instructional coaches, paraprofessionals, interventionists, and support staff.

Assess students regularly and adapt instruction based on assessment data and student needs.

Qualifications:

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build productive relationships with a diverse staff and student body.
Knowledge of the 2017 Massachusetts Curriculum Framework for Mathematics.
A strong work ethic and growth mindset.
Strong community-building skills and restorative justice approaches to discipline.
Bachelor’s degree required;
Master’s degree preferred.
Massachusetts Teacher Certification in 9-12 Mathematics required.
