Overview
Brown and Caldwell is currently seeking a Senior Project Manager to join our growing team.
This full-time position will contribute to project delivery and client service teams in winning and executing innovative planning, evaluation, design, permitting and providing construction support services for a variety of Drinking Water, Wastewater and/or Water Resources projects. Example projects include studies, design and construction of wastewater treatment plants, drinking water plants designs, biosolids and residuals processing and disposal, pumping stations, pipeline, stormwater management, MS4 Compliance and integrated water resources projects for municipal clients.
We are looking for a Civil/Mechanical/Environmental Engineer with a PE license who will partner with leaders in our Northeast Area to advance our growth strategy while providing project oversight and engineering mentorship as it pertains to water, wastewater, stormwater conveyance or related water engineering work.
Candidates must live in New England but may work remotely. Travel is required (~25% of the time) to client sites within the New England region.
Responsibilities- Execute and lead project delivery and business performance metrics to achieve scope, schedule, budget and quality goals, and monitor profitability through earned value analysis and timely invoicing.
- Provide project oversight, leadership and mentorship for diverse teams; develop new and existing client relationships and contribute to client satisfaction.
- Define objectives, schedules, budgets and success factors; establish clear direction and decision-making processes for projects.
- Establish effective communication methods for team standups, technical/design decisions, and client interactions.
- Support team motivation, conflict resolution, and recognition of success; foster a safe, inclusive environment that values diverse backgrounds and perspectives.
- Develop and maintain scopes of work, ensuring realistic assumptions and deliverables; manage changes and ensure client and project alignment.
- Develop and maintain project schedules and resource allocation; implement mitigation measures as needed.
- Prepare work breakdown structures and project budgets aligned with scope and schedule; ensure financial success of projects.
- Create and monitor quality management plans; uphold company standards and conduct quality reviews.
- Identify, evaluate and manage risks; develop mitigation strategies and monitor risk throughout the project lifecycle.
- Support client service and sales/marketing efforts; build and maintain client relationships and monitor client satisfaction.
- BS degree in Civil, Environmental, related Engineering or Science field.
- Experience planning, evaluating, designing, permitting or providing construction support services for water-related projects (e.g., advanced water/wastewater treatment, biosolids, pumping stations, pipeline conveyance, integrated water resources) for municipal clients.
- 12+ years of experience in Project Management; competency in development and monitoring of project schedules and budgets; ability to manage simple schedules and budgets.
- Strong project management and leadership skills; proficiency in MS Word, MS Teams, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, Outlook; proficiency in MS Project for scheduling.
- Ability to travel regionally throughout New England approximately 25% of the time.
- MS and/or MBA degree in Civil, Environmental, related Engineering or Science field.
- PE or equivalent licensing or ability to obtain through reciprocity within 6 months.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from PMI.
- Previous supervisory or mentoring experience is a plus.
The anticipated starting pay range for this position is based on the employee's primary work location and may be more or less depending upon skills, experience, and education. These ranges may be modified in the future.
