Overview

Phillips Academy seeks candidates for the position of Per Diem Public Safety Officer
. Primary responsibilities include protecting members of the Phillips Academy community and its property. The Public Safety Officer responds to requests for assistance and will patrol the campus primarily by vehicle, bicycle and foot. This is a per diem, non-exempt, non-benefits eligible position with the exception of those benefits required by law.

  • This is not a law enforcement position.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma; college coursework or degree is ideal.
  • Five years solid security experience and current driver’s license with a clean driving record is required.
  • Must be 21 years of age.
  • Must be able to work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions, must be able to perform all essential physical requirements of the position and enjoy working with adolescents.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are required.
  • Various safety training certifications are compulsory.
  • This is not a law enforcement position.
Vaccination policy

Phillips Academy requires that all faculty, staff, and administrators, subject to disability and religious accommodation exceptions under federal and state law, be up to date with their COVID vaccination, which includes any boosters that have been added to meet the CDC definition of up to date. For student-facing faculty, staff, and administrators this now includes the new bivalent booster.
