We are hiring a Director of Operations in our Andover, MA location.
Responsible for the development, implementation and overall effectiveness of the Sales & Operations Planning and Demand Management functions for the Patient Monitoring Business Unit, and for the Master Data Management function.
For all of the above functions, develops strategies and technologies, drives Continuous Improvement and Operations Excellence initiatives and manages related projects. Working closely with R&D, oversees and supports New Product Introduction ensuring Design for Manufacturability and Testability and the installation of verified and validated production processes & equipment in compliance with legal and internal requirements within manufacturing functions.
Main Responsibilities- Lead the development, introduction and continuous improvement of the Operations strategy across Production, Production Engineering and Logistics.
- Oversee the management of direct and indirect labor resources in the production of all Patient Monitors, Pods, related products and spares parts for the Andover Production Site in support of established marketing and production plans.
- Responsible for all Production Engineering functions and activities at the Production site, ensuring all production processes, tools and test systems are verified and validated to legal and internal requirements and operating at the highest possible efficiency.
- Act as the US “Make” process owner, leading the Draeger Process Landscape implementation via the roll‑out, support and harmonization of global processes and tools, measurement systems and metrics.
- Oversee all processes related to inventory control and warehouse operations, including inbound transportation, receiving, storage, material transactions, supplier Kanban replenishment, packaging, shipping and outbound transportation of products, and monitor inventory Key Performance Indicators.
- Develop, implement and maintain the cross‑functional Sales & Operations Planning function, including Master Production Scheduling, Demand Planning and Production Control.
- Manage the Master Data Management (MDM) function and personnel, supporting the rollout and execution of the global MDM strategy and roadmap.
- Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Engineering or related field;
Master’s or MBA strongly preferred. - 10+ years of operations experience in Lean continuous improvement manufacturing operations environments, including 5+ years in a management/leadership role required.
- 5+ years in the Medical Device or other regulated industry required, including strong knowledge of FDA GMP/QSR regulations and ISO standards.
- Strong knowledge of Lean, Continuous Improvement and Operational Excellence methodologies required; multi‑plant, multi‑site experience involving regional & global partnerships strongly preferred.
- Prior track record of managing multi‑site projects around continuous improvement, organizational development and change management preferred.
- Lean Certification (Green, Black Belt) strongly preferred.
- Ability to effectively communicate and present information to executive management.
The targeted pay range for this position is typically between $154,000 – $188,000. Base pay is based on market location and may vary further depending on individualized factors such as job‑related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. This position is eligible for an annual bonus.
