Physical Sciences Inc. – Research & Development Scientist

Physical Sciences Inc., an employee‑owned company, is looking for individuals with strong technical skills to join our Imperia Batteries research and development team. Candidates are sought who are effective in working in a team environment to manage, develop and commercialize innovative lithium‑ion cell and battery designs/technologies based on advanced materials for DoD and commercial customers.

Responsibilities
  • Support and lead research and development programs to develop next generation Li‑ion technologies, cell designs, and active materials.
  • Lead efforts from ideation and research through development process.
  • Execution of materials formulation, cell design/assembly and electrochemical testing.
  • Prepare proposals, program reports and customer‑facing presentations and reports.
  • Interface with DoD and commercial customers to support ongoing programs and efforts to generate new business.
  • Establish and lead experimental work plans to progress research efforts towards commercialization.
  • Develop budgets and manage program resources and timelines.
  • Analyze data and communicate results with cross‑functional teams.
Qualifications

Candidates should have earned a PhD in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or Materials Science or a related field and have a minimum of four years of experience. Candidates with proven leadership experience, including a record of leading technical programs, are highly valued and encouraged to apply. Candidates should demonstrate an extensive background in experimental design, data collection, and analysis with experience in customer interface.

Excellent English written and oral communication skills are required.

U.S. Citizenship is required.
