Senior Architectural Drafter

The Senior Architectural Drafter will produce detailed architectural and construction drawings for custom residential projects, ensuring plans meet design intent, building codes, and company standards. This full-time on-site role is based in Andover, MN and includes translating design concepts into complete drawing sets, updating plans as needed, and coordinating with architects, designers, and project managers. Day-to-day responsibilities include preparing floor plans, elevations, sections, and details, revising documents based on feedback, and maintaining organized digital files.

The Senior Architectural Drafter will also review drawings for accuracy, support permitting and construction documentation, and contribute to process improvements that enhance efficiency and design quality.

• 1-5 years of residential drafting experience
• Strong proficiency in Architectural Drawings and Construction Drawings, with the ability to develop clear, buildable plans.
• Solid understanding of Architecture and Planning principles and workflows, including building codes, residential design standards, and site considerations alongside managing deadlines for client meetings, permit submittals and model completions.
• Drafting of residential building plans.
• Coordination of surveys, truss and structural information, review of window orders.
• Advanced Drawing skills, including translating conceptual designs into detailed technical documentation.
• Experience using CAD/BIM software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, or similar) and digital project management tools.
• Relevant education in architecture, drafting, or a closely related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with collaborative teams and external partners - from drafting department to field personnel.
• Previous residential or custom home drafting experience in a construction-focused environment is highly beneficial.
• Compensation level is based on experience, attitude and aptitude.
• This is a full time, in-office position.
