Position Title Part-time Registered Nurse (RN) - Andover Campus

Job Duties

Butler Community College is seeking a part-time RN for its Andover campus location. This position manages the overall operation of the nursing procedures at Butler College Health Services at the Andover location. The RN provides primary health care to students within the RN scope of practice under the direction of the Director and established nursing standing orders approved by the Medical Director.

Primary health care is defined as either or both of two components: (1) the care the consumer receives at the point of contact with the health care system; and (2) the continued care of the individual and health care consumer. The care is two-dimensional: (1) identification, management and/or referral of health problems; and (2) the maintenance of the consumer’s health by means of health promotion and disease prevention.

Required knowledge and skills:

• A. Microsoft Word, skilled in word processing of documents including letters, tables, and forms.
• B. Experience using Excel and PowerPoint, preferred.
• C. Computer searching and research skills.
• D. Experience with computerized scheduling.
• E. Knowledge of medical terminology, insurance billing, CPR, and ICD /10 coding helpful but not required.
• F. Strong communication, clinical, and supervisory experience are required.
• G. Sound clinical judgment based on evidence.
• H. Willingness to learn.

Required experience:

• A. One year of RN experience required, preferably as an office nurse or in a college health setting.
• B. Prior experience in a medical office is preferred.

Required educational background:

• A. Kansas State RN License.
• B. BSN is preferred.
