R&D Technician - Food Science & Product Development

Our client, a leader in the food industry, is seeking an R&D Technician to support product innovation from concept to commercialization. This entry-level, hands‑on role offers the opportunity to work in lab and pilot plant settings, contributing to the development and testing of new formulations, processes, and ingredients.

• Develop, test, and evaluate new product formulations and process improvements in lab and pilot plant environments
• Prepare samples for internal testing, customer evaluation, sensory panels, and shelf‑life studies
• Operate, maintain, and clean laboratory equipment and pilot plant machinery following SOPs and safety protocols
• Collect, record, and analyze experimental data; prepare detailed reports and technical documentation
• Maintain R&D lab organization, inventory management, and supplies ordering
• Collaborate with Quality Assurance, Production, and Operations teams to support scale‑up trials and production runs
• Troubleshoot product testing issues and provide feedback to R&D scientists and engineers
• Stay current on food industry trends, ingredient innovations, and emerging processing technologies
• Support commercialization activities and new product launches

• Associate or Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Biology, Chemical Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• Prior experience in a laboratory

  , or food manufacturing environment preferred
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow precise protocols and standard operating procedures
• Knowledge of food safety
  , GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), and laboratory best practices
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and the ability to learn data collection software
• Excellent organizational skills

  , and communication abilities
• Strong teamwork and cross‑functional collaboration skills
• Physical ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 30 lbs, and work in varying temperatures
