Basic

Purpose:

Service customer requests at the Meat service counter.

Major Responsibilities:

Provide excellent customer service through friendly, courteous, fair and honest treatment of all customers. Maintain service levels/merchandising standards on the sales floor.

Follow approved policies and procedures for receiving, weighing and breaking down meat products. Ensure that all products are attractively presented; re-wrap products as necessary.

Wrap, price, and display meat products as directed by the meat manager and/or category set standards; handle all damaged and spoiled products according to Company policy while assisting in the control of such  familiar with invoice documents and able to confirm accuracy of item descriptions, sizes, quantities and pricing when assisting in receiving meat vendor product delivers.

Maintain refrigerated cases and display shelves at all times, ensuring proper product rotation, quality and freshness in accordance to Company policies and procedures.

Use and maintain equipment in good working order; notify meat manager/store management of any mechanical breakdown immediately; observe all safety policies and procedures in accordance with, state, and federal policy.

Follow all Company policies and procedures.

Maintain a professional appearance by adhering to the Company’s dress policy.

Other duties as assigned.

Physical Demands and Environment:

The position of meat stock clerk requires standing, reaching, stopping, kneeling, bending, push and pull movements during the majority of a shift. Occasional lifting up to 50lbs is required. Meat stock clerks should be physically able to perform all jobs/tasks associated with all aspects of store operations.

The majority of tasks will be performed within the confines of the store, with some tasks being outdoors and in temperature controlled rooms within the store.
