The salary for this position starts at $18.00 hourly. We take into consideration an individual's background and experience in determining salary; therefore, base pay offered may vary considerably depending on job‐related knowledge, skills, and experience. The compensation package includes a wide range of other benefits and earned time off that vary depending on part‑time or full‑time status.

The Ninja Coach is responsible for working with children to help identify their potential through Ninja Zone sport by providing high‑quality instruction and guidance. Teach fun and safe classes that create a positive, inclusive and supportive learning environment. Assist in membership development and retention by effectively building community within the class. Modify classes to meet varied health, ability and cultural needs in accordance with YMCA policies and procedures.

• Instruct and lead high‑energy, movement‑based Ninja Zone classes in accordance with Ninja Zone curriculum.
• Review lesson plan, know instructional materials, set up space with appropriate equipment.
• Create a fun and safe environment for youth to explore, move and grow.
• Administer program evaluations, provide feedback to youth through instruction and written progress reports.
• Understand the needs and goals of participants and provide them with a positive, enjoyable environment.
• Respond to and report any accidents or incidents.

This position reports to the Health and Wellness Director who reports to Branch Management. Work closely with other YMCA Team Members and program participants.

• Minimum age of 18.
• Complete formal Ninja Zone training upon hire.
• CPR, First Aid, and AED certified, or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.
• Demonstrated customer service and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to individually lead a class and motivate participants.
• Ability to respond calmly to safety and emergency situations.
• Ability to set up, move and store class equipment.
• Demonstrate a genuine interest in improving health, fitness and futures of youth.

• Experience working with children, fitness or youth sports.
• Supervisory experience.
• Bi/multilingual.

• Ability to stand on feet majority of work shift.
• Stretch, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs and move equipment on a regular basis.
• Ability to recognize and react calmly and effectively in the event of an emergency.
