As a Commercial Lines Assistant Account Manager, you'll play a key role in supporting commercial insurance clients and the internal team that services their business. Your work helps ensure policy changes are handled accurately, client requests are resolved quickly, and critical documentation is maintained throughout the policy lifecycle.
Working closely with Account Managers and Account Executives, you'll support a commercial lines book of business by managing service requests, coordinating with carriers, and helping clients navigate endorsements, claims, certificates, and renewals. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys client service, thrives in a detail-oriented environment, and wants to grow within the insurance industry.
How You'll Make an Impact- Respond to client inquiries by phone, email, and in person, delivering timely and professional service.
- Process policy endorsements and coverage changes while ensuring accurate system documentation.
- Support clients through the claims process by submitting claims, communicating with carriers, and monitoring claim progress.
- Prepare and distribute Certificates of Insurance and Evidence of Insurance for clients and third-party requestors.
- Maintain complete and organized client records by downloading, attaching, and updating carrier and policy documentation.
- Assist with renewals, loss runs, policy updates, finance agreements, and carrier change requests to support overall book retention and servicing.
- Client-focused and responsive, with a commitment to delivering exceptional service.
- Organized and able to prioritize competing responsibilities effectively.
- A clear and professional communicator who builds trust with clients, carriers, and teammates.
- Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy and data integrity.
- Resourceful and persistent when resolving issues and following through on requests.
- Collaborative and willing to support team success, including providing coverage for colleagues when needed.
- Committed to confidentiality, professionalism, and ethical business practices.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Active Property & Casualty Insurance License.
- Prior experience in an administrative support role.
- Familiarity with commercial lines insurance products, coverages, policies, and procedures.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and business applications used for client and policy management.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Experience working in a Property & Casualty insurance agency.
- Experience supporting a Commercial Lines Department.
- Associate Degree in Business Administration or a related field.
- Experience using EPIC or a similar agency management system.
- Familiarity with endorsements, certificates, claims support, renewals, loss runs, and carrier servicing processes.
